Desde la Cátedra Ecología de los Sistemas Agropecuarios de Fac.de Cs Agropecuarias, en los años 2009/2010 se hizo una evaluación del área del bosque nativo en la provincia, donde se determinó la existencia, de 1, 5 millones de hectáreas.
